We hope your school year is off to an exciting start. The Georgia Thespians State Board would like to share with you some upcoming opportunities for members of your troupe.
Attention all High School Troupe Directors
Georgia Thespians hosts LeadCon sessions in order to prepare you and your students for the upcoming Thespian Conference. At LeadCons, we provide valuable and up-to-date information and training related to our Chapter and conferences, as well as student leadership training, opening and all-state show audition process, and our Student Officer election process.
We recognize that with over 5,500 attendees at ThesCon, the tickets for some shows can be hard to come by.
As an incentive to Troupe Directors who attend BOTH LeadCons, we will provide them with early access to the conference show ticking selection process.

State Thespian Officer Elections
STOs represent all of Georgia Thespians as they serve alongside the Georgia Thespians Chapter Board. Each school is allowed to send one candidate to run for office as well astwo representatives at the LeadCon on September 8. Candidates should be prepared to answers questions, and be prepared to present a speech at the second LeadCon. Attendance at both LeadCons is mandatory. Voting will take place at the second LeadCon. This year we will be electing 9 students instead of 7.
Georgia Thespian Conference Grants are available for students who have financial difficulty and for whom free conference registration would be beneficial. The application must be emailed to Kimberly Staples before September 8 or hand delivered at LeadCon 1. Recipients will be credited with the grant online when the troupe registers or shortly thereafter, depending on the time of registration.
The application process for Georgia Thespians Honor Troupes includes submission of a portfolio (“brag book”) about the positive impact your troupe is making. Its directions must be followed exactly with no duplications in multiple categories. Portfolios will be submitted at LeadCon 1 on September 8 and awards will be presented at the following Georgia Thespian Conference.
All-State Opening Number
We are looking for Thespians with good attitudes, good work ethic, and of course, TALENT! Our goal is to cast 50 people, plus a featured dance corps.
Each troupe may send FOUR students TOTAL to represent their school to audition as a performer or interview as a technician. Example: 3 Performers and 1 Technician…3 Technicians and 1 Performer.
This year, you may also send 1 additional Thespian that can play a trombone, trumpet, sousaphone, marching baritone, bass drum, cymbals, tenors, or marching snare at an intermediate to advance level. They need to bring their own instrument and play a 30 second prepared piece or drum cadence.
