FreeStyle Festival

FreeStyle Festival

FreeStyle Festival showcases student-written works, scene studies, short plays, mime performances, musical theatre dance numbers, puppet shows, and almost anything that would work well in an intimate setting.

FreeStyle provides a performance opportunity for students in a non-competitive environment and invites performances that might not fit into another event category. FreeStyle Festival is open to any troupe registered for and attending the Georgia Thespian Conference. Troupes may enter more than one event as space allows.

Screening

All FreeStyle Festival entries must submit a video link to screen the performance by January 4, 2025 at 4:00 PM. Entries may be submitted through either the registration form or should be emailed to freestyle@gathespian.org. Schools will be notified of acceptance and receive screening feedback rubrics by January 10, 2025.

Rights & Royalties

Schools producing published material are responsible for making any arrangements with the publisher for a license and paying all royalties and fees associated with the performance.

Performance Time

The minimum performance time is 10 minutes, and the maximum performance time is 20 minutes. Each performing group will be allowed to stay within the 20-minute maximum time length.
