Conference Shows
Georgia Thespians is seeking high-quality productions to be showcased at the 2023 Georgia Thespian Conference. If your troupe would like the opportunity to share your show with other Thespians, apply for show screening by October 7, 2022. Please note, troupes are allowed to choose only one show to be screened each year.
There are numerous opportunities for getting your production featured in one of our conference venues. Our goal is to provide conference attendees with a variety of theatre with regards to genre, style, theme, and scale.
Directors must agree to the conditions listed in the Screening Agreement, submit a Screening Application, and complete the payment by October 7th, 2022 at 4 p.m. Selected shows will be given notice of acceptance December 7, 2022. All show directors must attend a production meeting at the 2nd LeadCon session on January 7, 2023 in person or on zoom.
Mandatory Production Meeting for Directors of Accepted Shows:
January 7, 2023 at 10:00 AM, Houston County High School
The meeting will be held in person or you may attend via ZOOM.

As a member of the Educational Theatre Association (EdTA), it is our goal to make Theatre Education a central part of the screening process. Adjudicators will use an evaluation rubric designed to provide ample feedback to students and directors.

Chapter Select
- Screening Application deadline: October 7, 2022
- International Thespian Festival: June 19-23, 2023.
The Chapter Select Showcase is a presentation of one-acts which takes place at the International Thespian Festival (ITF) in Bloomington, Indiana. The Chapter Select Showcase features outstanding Thespian productions from chapters nationwide. Georgia Thespians will provide a grant of up to $5,000 to cover ITF registration fees for any school selected to perform in the Chapter Select Showcase. Participants must be registered for the entire festival and meet all festival deadlines. The troupe director will send a copy of the school’s Festival registration to the Chapter Treasurer. Georgia Thespians will send a check made out to the school or the booster organization, within two weeks after the Chapter Select show performs at the International Thespian Festival. If your school wishes to be considered for the Chapter Select Showcase at the International Thespian Festival, you must complete the Chapter Select Screening Agreement (in addition to all Georgia Thespians screening documents) and mail it to the address provided on the Screening Agreement by the October 7th deadline.
